The varsity boys soccer team squared up vs. St. Edwards High School last night to determine their rank in the postseason. The winner of this game would become the number one seed in the playoffs.

“As the number one seed, you pretty much has a free ride to regionals,” said senior Hunter Gaskin. “The number one seed plays the number four seed which is usually a team we can blowout.”

The team played a hard-fought game, only scoring one goal, thanks to senior Carlo Campanini. This happened to be just what they needed for a victory. Holy Trinity defeated St. Edwards 1-0 securing the top spot in the playoffs.

“We knew what was on the line,” said Gaskin. “We wanted to come out physical and it paid off.”

By securing the highest rank seed in the playoffs, the dominance and determination displayed in the regular season will surely carry them far in the playoffs.
