The Holy Trinity varsity volleyball team has just completed their season with a record of 20 wins and 7 losses. Seniors Lara Boos, Aly Tyson, and junior Emily Noe were the captains of the volleyball team this year. The team won against Lake Placid in the regional semifinals, but lost to Trinity Catholic in the regional finals. They shared a few things they have enjoyed and, for the seniors, what they will miss, about playing volleyball at Holy Trinity.

Q: What is your favorite part about playing volleyball in general?

Aly: My favorite part of playing volleyball is being able to see the rush and enjoyment we all feel after we win a really long and important rally.

Lara: The amazing feeling of playing on the court with your team with everyone cheering you on.

Emily: My favorite part about playing volleyball is the rush of winning and being able to play with other girls and share all the excitement.

Q: What was your favorite part about the season at HT?

Aly: My favorite part about the season was just seeing my teammates in general. I feel like we are all one big happy family.

Lara: The Ambush

Emily: My favorite part of this season was definitely all of the times that we fought back as a team and really came together.

Q: What was your favorite memory from this season?

Aly: My favorite memory from being on the volleyball team was singing the national anthem with the ambush before every home game.

Lara: Winning districts every year I’ve been on varsity and the Ambush chanting “LSU.”

Emily: My favorite memory was definitely Tampa camp doing yoga in the rooms to stretch our sore bodies after hours of volleyball.

Q: What was your favorite team to play against this year?

Aly: My favorite team to play against was Viera because our schools are somewhat evenly matched. It always turns out to be a good game to watch or play.

Lara: Viera or Lake Placid

Emily: My favorite team to play against was probably Viera.

Q: With two of you being seniors, what will you miss most about this team? What will you miss most about playing for HT?

Aly: What I will miss most about the team is seeing the younger player develop. I loved watching them receive their recorded stat kill, block, or dig.

Lara: I will miss the atmosphere and people. Whenever we had a home game, the entire feeling in the gym was different.

Emily: I am excited for senior year next year playing volleyball with all my best friends, but I am definitely going to miss our seniors so much.

Q: Do you have any advice or tips for the rest of your team?

Aly: A tip I want the rest of the team to know is always remember the reason you are playing the game. When you feel frustrated about losing and mentally and physically exhausted from practices and games, remember you play because you love the game.

Lara: Always remember why you play the sport, because you love it.

Emily: My advice for the team is to get some rest because we are coming to win next year like always.
