The new face of Holy Trinity

Jennifer Elling is often the first face students and parents see when they walk into Holy Trinity.

Jennifer Elling, one of this year’s new staff members, has a positive outlook about the start of the year. “I’m so glad to be here, and everybody is super gracious and kind to work with,” she says. Elling works at the desk in the front office, where she has taken on one of the biggest responsibilities at Holy Trinity.

She seems to have the right mindset for the job, saying, “There’s so much that goes on up here in the office, and my role is to do my best to provide and meet those needs or find the right person who can or will.”

Joining Holy Trinity and moving to a new state amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Elling notes that it’s important to focus on the positives. “Like everybody else, I am disappointed that we all have to face this again for another school year, so I’m sorry for students, staff, and faculty. But at the same time, I know that we as humans are actually learning a lot about ourselves and each other and just how to do life based on this challenge, so I know we’re going to come out stronger on the other side of this. It’s kind of the big picture, instead of just focusing on those negatives.”

Previously,  Elling lived in Georgia for 10 years, where she and her family would often go camping and hiking. One of Elling’s favorite hobbies is to be outside planting flowers and maintaining her yard, and she is an avid Steeler fan, originally hailing from Pittsburgh.

Elling is also looking forward to becoming a grandmother in the near future. “My oldest daughter is pregnant, so I’m super over the moon about that and currently trying to figure out what my grandmother name is going to be. It has to be the youngest sounding name that I think of,” she says.

All in all, it is important to welcome Elling with open arms. Make sure to stop by the front office to welcome one of the newest members of Holy Trinity’s family.
