Chick-fil-A is known for its friendly customer service and being closed on Sundays. But starting August 24, customers of the Chick-fil-A at 8300 N Wickham Road will have to wait until November for their fast food.
Chick-fil-A, located off the I-95 exit onto Wickham Road, will be closed and renovated for the next few months. The Chick-fil-A drive-thru has often been the cause of extreme traffic backups and congestion on Wickham Road due to its popularity and isolation from other restaurants of the franchise. These renovations aim to improve the functionality of the drive-thrus, expand the dining area, and relieve congestion on Wickham Road.
Chick-fil-A has been a long-standing lunch option here at Holy Trinity. Every Tuesday, sandwiches and chicken nuggets are delivered to the Upper School campus from Chick-fil-A’s North Wickham Road location. Lia Page, the Ancillary Programs Manager at the Upper School, describes the process behind choosing the school lunches.
“It has to do with location, that they’re close enough to our campus so they can get here within 10 to 15 minutes, and whether or not they’re willing to deliver two times each day and individually package everything so that it’s easy to hand out,” Page said.
Page explained how this process will change after the temporary closure of Chick-fil-A.
“The owner of that Chick-fil-A also owns the Chick-fil-A at Eastern Florida State College, and so what will happen is we will be getting our lunches from that facility. We’re going with the same vendor, it’ll just be coming from a different location until that store is rebuilt,” Page said.
