Whether you’re late, checking out, or just heading to the office, there’s always a friendly face welcoming you through the doors. Receptionist and Attendance Administrator Stacey Hewatt has been working at Holy Trinity for the past two years, answering the phones, letting visitors in the gates, and ensuring attendance is recorded.
Hewatt’s son and daughter were at Holy Trinity when she first started. Prior to working the front desk at Holy Trinity, Hewatt ran the Ace Hardware in Suntree for 22 years. After closing due to COVID-19, Ace Hardware turned into a Dollar General and Hewatt decided to take some time off from working. “I took a year off before coming to work at HT and stayed at home with my family during 2020 and the better parts of 2021,” Hewatt said.
Without Hewatt, the school days would not run as smoothly as they do, and Holy Trinity has JV cheer coach Kim Edmondson to thank for that. “Kim Edmondson sent me a text saying that Holy Trinity was looking for a receptionist and here I am,” Hewatt said. Hewatt spends the majority of her day making sure students are accounted for and visitors to campus are properly identified.
“The best part about my job is getting to work with the amazing community and the people I get to work with,” Hewatt said. “My favorite thing to do during my day is interacting with the students and the most difficult part has to be when I’m multitasking and don’t have the chance to give someone my undivided attention.”
Hewatt has become such a special part of HT students’ lives. “I appreciate how sweet she is and that she always greets students in the nicest way,” junior Izzy Henderson said.
“What I appreciate most about Mrs. Hewatt is that she always has a smile on her face and brightens my day,” senior Dani Desrochers said.
