“Don’t talk to me until I’ve had my morning coffee,” is not only something HT’s teachers say. Every morning, students come walking in with caffeinated drinks, ready to start the day. But what is our student body drinking?
“I order an iced matcha with strawberry syrup,” senior Kiren Farooqui says. A drink originating from Japan, matcha has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Known for its earthy and refreshing taste, matcha has become one of the most common coffee alternatives amongst students.
Another popular drink amongst students is iced lattes. “I usually just get an iced vanilla latte,” senior Sage LaGala says. Iced lattes are so versatile in flavor and style that its most HT students’ go-to.
Besides the drinks, many students enjoy going to cafes to unwind and catch up with friends. Most days after school, you can catch HT students and their friends hanging out at a Starbucks or local cafe as a way to escape the business of the day.
“My favorite cafe is Cafe Surfinista. I love the atmosphere and the vibe of the place,” senior Sanjana Reddy says. Another popular cafe amongst students is Apocalypse, for its grunge atmosphere.
