Senior Giana Webb has been cheering for the Holy Trinity varsity cheer team since her freshman year of high school. With big hopes and ambitions for the future, Webb has set a goal to cheer at the collegiate level.
Webb first got involved with gymnastics starting at the age of four. When arriving at the upper school campus, she wanted to bring her gymnastic abilities to the varsity cheer team. Her freshman year, she tried out for the squad and made it. She began to cheer on the Holy Trinity Tigers, and this is where her collegiate dreams began.
“I went to my first UCF cheer clinic my sophomore year,” said Webb. She describes the clinics as four hours long and mainly stunting. First, you start out the day at 7 AM and begin with stunting, then you move to tumbling on the mats. “During tumbling you get to show the coaches your skills, along with the other cheerleaders,” said Webb. Next, you have a quick lunch break then back to stunting and learning the fight song. Ever since her first clinic at UCF, Webb loved it and began to take it more seriously.

To prepare for the year ahead of her, Webb has been involved with private training sessions. She drives to UCF to get coached on a one on one level, hoping to excel before tryouts. Webb also attends all the UCF cheer clinics. “Hopefully, I’ll be flying to the University of Alabama to attend a clinic there as well,” said Webb.
With senior year underway, the future for Webb is right around the corner. All of Webb’s dedication, long practices, and endless memories will pay off and lead her to achieve her dreams.
