The heart of a high school community is built of students and staff who are passionate in tradition, spirit, and forming a supportive environment. The Reeve family have been active members in the Holy Trinity community for eight years. Deeply rooted in every aspect of the school environment from academics to athletics.
Most of the students who have attended Holy Trinity for the past couple years know Mrs. Reeve. “I hope Mrs. Reeve is our sub,” is a frequent sentence heard around campus. Beth is the substitute coordinator and testing coordinator, meaning all the substitutes that are on campus each day are arranged by Beth. Along with organizing and registering all the students for AP exams in May and the PSAT and PACT throughout the school year. “I am heavily involved with the football team, currently being the team mom,” said Beth. Being team mom means coordinating meals, travel, communicating with parents and players, senior night, stats, and other pre game necessities. “I’ll do anything wherever I’m needed,” said Beth. Beth has always loved to be involved, starting her volunteering when Shelby, her oldest daughter, was in seventh grade. “I was a cheerleader in high school and college, so I’m a huge football fan,” said Beth. You’ll always find Beth at a football game whether Nathan and Maddy, her youngest children, are playing or cheering. Beth’s overall school spirit is lifted by many factors, Nathan and Maddy being involved in sports, working at the school, and having connections with students. “I wish more students would attend sporting events,” said Beth. Holy Trinity is a college academic school, so it’s understandable students are busy with work, but Beth believes if parents are excited and enthusiastic the students will be as well. “When I participate in school events, it makes my job feel like a family,” said Beth. Seeing her students outside of the classroom helps her see what they are passionate about. Beth believes that going to support your friends or classmates during an event helps build community, stronger bonds, and school spirit. Beth believes Holy Trinity is made so unique because the students come from all over Brevard county. “We aren’t just a neighborhood school,” said Beth. So many different characters can be found on campus, almost making us a melting pot.
Shelby Reeve, Mrs. Reeves’ oldest daughter, graduated with the class of 2024 from Holy Trinity. She is currently studying mass communication in the Zimmerman School at the University of South Florida. After graduating, Shelby noticed a kick in school spirit. “The class of 2024 really tried to continue school spirit and I see the current seniors doing that as well,” said Shelby. Bringing back Ambush and adding new clubs like SALT (Student Athletic Leadership Team) have added more aspects of school spirit. Shelby took every journalism class Holy Trinity offered, those being Intro to Journalism, Broadcast, Newspaper, and Yearbook. “Mr. Hale, when he was still teaching, was one of my biggest supporters and proved to me I was actually talented at something,” said Shelby. Coach Brown as well saw Shelby’s potential, letting her become the football team manager, which sparked her interest in mass communications. “Holy Trinity prepared me by making college almost easy,” said Shelby. Obviously college isn’t easy, but she explained how she learned how to manage her work load but also her life and still have fun.
Nathan and Maddy are fraternal twins and also the youngest siblings. They are sophomores and are currently in season for varsity football and varsity cheer. Maddy has been cheering for three years, this being her second year on varsity. “I think cheer has definitely affected my overall school spirit,” said Maddy. Being on the sidelines, cheering on Holy Trinity, has made Maddy a happier person. “School spirit at Holy Trinity has always lacked, but after putting myself in the middle of it, I find myself having more excitement,” said Maddy. “I really love the people on campus,” said Maddy. The teachers are always understanding and welcoming. “I love seeing the students be so passionate about their academics, although it can make them shy away from their school spirit,” said Maddy. Nathan has been playing varsity sports since seventh grade. “Playing football has really helped me interact and meet new people,” said Nathan. Nathan believes school spirit has overall made his high school experience more fun. “I love Holy Trinity because of the people,” said Nathan. There’s a lot of other students here who love the same things you might, making it easier to make friends, making your high school experience ten times better.
