70% of teenagers intake caffeine on the daily and 35% of those teens have a caffeine addiction. While walking around the Holy Trinity upper school campus, many students have beverages from places like 7Brew or Starbucks. Which begs the question, “Do the Holy Trinity students prefer 7Brew or Starbucks?”
First, let’s learn about each company and what they have to offer. 7Brew offers drinks that can be crafted exactly to your liking, as well as many unique flavors. They offer coffee (hot or iced), energy drinks, milkshakes, and small snack items. 7Brew’s price range also falls on the more affordable side, getting a large coffee for almost the same price as a medium drink at Starbucks. But Starbucks has been in the game much longer. They offer a unique seasonal menu and many collaborations with celebrities or brands. Starbucks offers hot or cold beverages, such as coffee and refreshers. They also have a bakery full of energizing breakfast foods or sweet treats. Along with 7Brew, Starbucks has an interchangeable pricing range depending on your customization and size of beverage.
Everyone has different preferences and can defend themselves, so let’s see why the students of Holy Trinity either like 7Brew or Starbucks. “I prefer Starbucks over 7Brew because it’s more convenient on my route to school,” said senior Addison Black. Without wanting to go out of her way, Black chooses Starbucks but not only because of the benefit. “Starbucks also offers more food options and overall better coffee and drinks,” said Black.
Junior Bo Bagwell agrees with Black as well. “I prefer Starbucks over 7Brew because you can study and hangout with your friends,” said Bagwell. Bagwell isn’t an avid Starbucks attendee but when he does go, he finds himself productive. He normally gets a snack, like a bacon gouda sandwich, and locks in for big tests.
But some disagree with Bagwell and Black. “I believe 7Brew is better than Starbucks because the size to price ratio is more affordable,” said junior Julia Nevin. Nevin almost always starts her day off with an iced coffee from 7Brew. “7Brew also offers many options like fizzes (energy drinks), coffee, milkshakes, and smoothies,” said Nevin. Being able to get these drinks in any flavor on the menu and customize them to your liking offers a new element to coffee shops.
While navigating around campus, if you’re looking for a possible new drink order or study spot, don’t be afraid to ask the student body which coffee places they prefer. Most are extremely opinionated and more than happy to rant about 7Brew or Starbucks.
