We’ve got spirit, how about you? This year, Holy Trinity is taking steps to make sports games louder than ever. With new clubs, services, and traditions, the student body is forming new ways to cheer each other on.
One of the new steps dedicated to school spirit is a revamped Ambush. Ambush had before been a small group that would cheer on the volleyball team, but this year they’re stepping out as an official club that supports all sports at Holy Trinity. They will be at every game, leading cheers and chants with the students in the student section. They will bring boundless energy and fun to the student section.
The JV cheer squad is leading the new spirit station at home football games. They’ll be face painting and handing out accessories to make sure everyone is dressed in theme. You’ll also see posters made by them in the hallways promoting the themes and encouraging the student body to come to the games. JV Cheer Coach, Kim Edmondson, says their goal is “getting kids in the seats, having fun.”
“We’re always looking for ways to engage the crowd,” music teacher Jason Stephens said. The Pep Band is developing different ways to get the student section to participate through their music. They’re also expanding into sports other than football. Stephens is scheduling for at least one other sport that the band will be playing at in support of the players.
Whether you’re on the field, sidelines, or in the stands, “knowing that all your friends are going to be there, supporting the school together is what makes games so special,” Edmondson said. Sports games connect the student body and are a way to show our pride at Holy Trinity, so fill the stands and show your spirit.
